the DreamMakeover Tri Cities
participants met the public and revealed
their new looks in front of adoring
family, friends, and a variety of
community well-wishers. Loud cheers
erupted as John, Joni, Laurie, and
Melinda each made their dramatic and
dazzling debut at the
Three
Rivers
Convention Center
.
These
four people experienced a DreamMakeover
transformation of a lifetime: Cosmetic
dentistry, facial plastic surgery,
personal fitness training, Lasik eye
surgery, laser hair removal, skin
rejuvenation, hair styling, cosmetics,
spa services, wellness coaching,
bio-identical hormone replacement
therapy, new clothing, fashion and style
coaching – all part of the
DreamMakeover offering.
The
Gala Reveal was also a fund raiser for
SARC/Kids Haven and has enjoyed broad
support from throughout the community.
Television, Radio, internet and print
media outlets in the region, (DreamMedia)
have been involved from the outset.
The
evening of the Gala Revel itself started
out with a charity silent auction, door
prizes, and entertainment. The
excitement heated up as local radio and
TV personalities introduced each
participant with a video vignette of
their journey of transformation, and
finally the finished result of a lot of
hard work – in person! The night was
capped off with a special concert by the
famous Curtis Salgado, the original
inspiration for the Blues Brothers.
It
has been an exciting four months for the
participants in The Center For Dental
Health’s and Advanced Laser Clinics’
DreamMakeover
Tri Cities promotion. Since the
beginning of the year, John, Joni,
Laurie, and Melinda have undergone a
variety of cosmetic procedures, and an
intense health & fitness training
regimen.
The
results have been amazing. In fact,
they’ve been nothing short of
stunning! This has all been accomplished
thanks to the efforts of Dr. Lee Ostler,
Dr. Michael Warner, Dr. Paul Madsen, Dr.
Michael Taylor, Dr. Todd Cooper, Dr.
Linda Bascom & Dr. James Leonard,
Advanced Laser Clinics, World Gym,
Z-Place Spa, JCPenney, Chong's Men
Ware, and Lisa Collections,
Each
DreamMakeover was generally valued at
approximately $50,000 – but in the
eyes of the recipients, the results have
been priceless. As much as changing the
outside, each participant has remarked
at how much it has changed them inside.
“I’m
so happy I did this,” says Laurie, who
said at the beginning of the makeover
that she wasn’t looking for perfection
or even a lot of dramatic changes. She
says her husband was mistaken as one of
her sons – and she knew she needed to
do something. She said she has no desire
to look 30 again. But as a proud mother
of 7 and grandmother of 3, she wants to
look the best at 52 that she can.
Laurie
says that for as long as she can
remember she has been unhappy with
certain aspects of my body.
“It was painful growing up and
being the only girl, an unattractive one
at that.
My looks in general were the
subject of teasing, but my nose and
buckteeth were easy targets.” Now with
a new beautiful smile and a straighter
thinner nose, she feels strong and
confident.
Laurie
was just looking to make a number of
small changes. And that is exactly what
her makeover has given her – but much
more dramatically than she ever
imagined. Her husband now believes she
gives Sharon Stone a good run for it.
And she has enjoyed wonderful and
positive feedback from friends and
family.
Of
all the services provided, Laurie says
her new smile, and her new fitness
discipline has made the most impact. We
won’t hold her to it, but she says she
is now working on getting in shape for a
triathlon race. Wow! Imagine those
pearly whites crossing the finish line
in winning style! Laurie says honestly,
“I’m so glad I was chosen. What a
surprise! And what a wonderful journey
this has been. And this is just the
start!”
John
says that dreams are only foolish to
those who don’t have them. And this
makeover for him is a dream come true.
He has had a smile – in his heart –
waiting for the dazzling smile to show
up on his face. He knew he needed to
start doing something about his fitness
and appearance when he was with his wife
and was mistaken as her father. “I
just feel too darn young to look this
old!” says John.
John
knows that a smile is the first thing
that people notice about you, and that a
good first impression is priceless.
However, as far back as he can remember,
he has been teased about his teeth and
was always ashamed.
His fondest wish was to not see
the look of aversion from others when
they saw his smile. He knows it hurt his
confidence and self-esteem.
He
was astonished and in disbelief at being
chosen, and had many trials along the
way. “It was hard to find the time to
make it to the gym and to do the
conditioning, and to make all the
appointments. But it was worth it all. I
would do it all over again! My interest
is in the future, because I'm going to
be spending the rest of my life
there.”
John
says the biggest impact in his life is
at having teeth again that he can smile
and eat with. John agrees that the
entire promotion has been a great
experience. He loves his new found
energy and the enjoyment at talking with
people openly. It has helped him at his
job and in his social and family life.
He has been sticking with his workout
regime and continues to enjoy the
admiring comments of his friends, family
and customers who have noticed a newness
of life that has overtaken him.
Joni,
like the others, is more than pleased
with her results. One of her high points
was her eye surgery. Her new favorite
number is “20-20”. For most of life
she has lugged around thick heavy
glasses and she has longed for the
miracle of better sight without glasses.
She has often seen her glasses as a
barrier between her and the world, and
is almost blind without them. Now after
Lasik eye surgery, she sees perfectly
and doesn’t have glasses hiding her
beautiful face.
While
Joni had already begun to lose weight
before being chosen for the
DreamMakeover promotion, her strength
and conditioning fitness regimens at
World Gym have given her new vigor and
fitness, and a wonderful toned and much
more sleek body shape. Her results have
inspired others around her, and she
continues in the good habits she has
begun. She remarked that never in her
life has she felt pretty. Well now she
has a new smile and a new outlook.
“Now I feel pretty,” she says. That
‘pretty’ well says it all!
Joni
was surprised with a large contingent of
friends and family from her home town
which turned out in mass at the Gala to
support her – some driving in from out
of state and who hadn’t seen her in
almost a year. Like all those present,
they were delighted and amazed at her
stunning new hair style, gorgeous dress,
and boundless energy as she flashed her
new smile, her soft smooth skin, and
embraced her family and waved to the
crowd. As her husband remarked with a
smile, “She’s a hottie!”
Melinda’s
transformation has been nothing short of
stunning and amazing. When she was
chosen as a participant she said, “I
anticipate the day when I walk out,
shoulders back and head held high, to
surprise my friends and family with a
‘me’ that’s as beautiful outside
as she is inside.” Like many, for much
of her life she has lived with the
memory of unkind remarks about her
appearance. “It’s my opinion that
people can be mean.
Especially children. I was their
favorite target simply because I
possessed crooked, prominent teeth, and
a pointy ‘witch’ chin.”
Now
with a gorgeous new smile and a sleek
shapely figure and new hair style and
wardrobe, she happily smiles with new
found confidence that brings more than a
tear of gratitude to her eyes. Her face
and skin is soft and blemish free, her
eyes sparkle with a new smile and a more
youthful face and appearance. She is
still reeling from the excitement and is
having a hard time believing that it was
all for real.
She says she knows the transformations
that have occurred on the inside have
been more dramatic than those observable
on the outside. She loves her new
friends, her new figure and fitness
disciplines, and her youthful
appearance. She admits that her
rejuvenated 10-years-younger appearance
has given her a huge boost in
self-confidence. When she looks in the
mirror, she still sees the same loving
and caring Melinda, but she now also
sees the new confidence in her smile,
the sparkle in her eye and notices the
energy in her step. “It feels
great!”
It
was a huge commitment, but she says she
wouldn’t have changed a thing –
especially the procedures with Dr.
Ostler and Dr. Warner. “I’ve been so
blessed to have had this journey,”
says Melinda.
And what a journey it’s been – for
everyone. Twelve weeks of non-stop
excitement, media exposure,
transformation, new looks, new friends,
and most of all - new outlook on life!
